We went to the MLS Western Conference Championship tonight and watched our beloved L.A. Galaxy get pulverized by FC Dallas, despite the fact that FC Dallas wore bathing costumes from the 1920s or were playing a less-difficult version of "Where's Waldo"?
{Note to suziebeezieland readers from Dallas: I am forced to be uncharacteristically harsh and say things like "bathing costumes" and "Waldo" because your team beat my team.}
It was a really aggressive, really exciting game to watch. (Lots and lots of pulling shirts and little fights. Like Hockey Lite or something.)
Our defense was awful, and Kevin Hartman (their goalie) was, I'll admit, pretty awesome. FC Dallas will now go on to play Colorado in Toronto (!) for the MLS Cup.
We had excellent seats, and as a consolation prize I did manage to get a few nice shots of Beckham for you. He was sporting a jaunty samurai top-knot during the first half.
He really is an amazing player to watch. He set up the most beautiful shots for his teammates tonight, who managed to mess them all up.
It was like watching a farmer lovingly give some cooks a dozen beautiful, healthy, farm-fresh eggs, and then watching those cooks either drop, burn, or over-scramble every single egg.
