The other day I had to go to Target, so I thought to myself, "Oh, goody, I will also get to see the new Liberty of London stuff while I'm there." Have you seen it? It's so cute, huh?
Then I thought to myself, "But it came out on March 14, and I bet it's already wiped out."
I went to the big two-story Target in Pasadena, and sure enough, the Liberty of London endcaps in the home section had been picked almost clean. There were some really cute melamine dishes and glasses left, though, and I had piled six super pink plates and six little tumblers into my cart and was wheeling away down the aisle before I thought, "Wait a minute, what am I doing? I have to save my money for the ACTUAL London!" So I put them back.
So I bought a birthday present for someone (my original errand) and as I was approaching the checkstand, I noticed a little Liberty of London endcap in the purse/accessories section. And they had some really cute scarves! I legitimately need a scarf for our trip, so I was excited about this. They had some blue ones, and then one by-itself pink one that didn't have a tag on it. I grabbed it.
When I got to the checkstand, I gave the guy my pink scarf, and as he opened it up to find the label, all of a sudden I panicked. It seemed really big. What if it was a tablecloth that somebody returned to the wrong section?
I could just see myself walking around the actual London for the first time in my entire life, with a tablecloth tied around my neck.
But when he swiped the barcode, it said "scarf." Phew!
It's actually a pink pareo, which is a big huge scarf. If I'm ever wearing it and we decide to have an impromptu picnic somewhere, I'll just whip it off from around my neck and throw it on the ground, and we'll be all set.
I will probably go back and get a smaller blue scarf, because I'm not sure my pink pareo will fit under my coat. :)
