Claire (sobbing): Why did God let Ham-Ham die? Why didn't He stop it?
Mama: God doesn't like death, Claire. But death is part of the world right now. God loved Ham-Ham.
Claire: Is Ham-Ham in heaven?
Mama: Yes.
Claire: Is he in hamster heaven or regular heaven?
Mama: Regular heaven.
Claire: But how do we know if animals love God?
Mama: I guess God knows.
Claire: I just don't like that word DIE.
Mama: Neither do I, Claire. Neither does anybody.
